Millie by the pond!!!

Millie didn't care much for her photo shoot with Momma but I'm waiting to get her 1 year pictures taken until next weekend. So we did our own photo shoot. Millie wanted to eat the grass and crawl around the entire time. She is getting so mobile and independent. What will I do when she walks?

Millie and her BIG 1st Birthday Party

Well it was a big day for Millie. She is still recovering today. We had her birthday party and Millie had a blast. I can't believe that I planned and had one great party for her. With the help of all of my family and friends of course. It's really not my thing but I have tried to change some of my views for Millie's sake. I think she will look back on the pictures and know she had everyone there that she loves and we made a big fuss over her. She did deserve every bit of it. She turned one with us. I didn't have a welcome home party because I thought it might be too much for Millie and me, so we did it up for her 1st. Here are some pictures. I love them.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MILLIE

Today is your birthday and we get to spend it with you. I can't believe you have been with us for just a short time in your life and we get to watch you turn one. We are so blessed to get to share this day with you on your sweet 1st birthday. How in the world did we get so lucky. Mommy and Daddy are on top of the world. We want every wish and dream to come true for you. I know your too young to remember life without us, but we never thought you would be here for your birthday this year. Our world is so full of love and laughter with you in it. So many people have said to me, "it like Millie was ours from the beginning and just spent sometime away from us". That's how we feel. You were meant to come to us and God made it happen. My sweet beautiful baby girl, I love you with every inch of my heart and I want to make sure you have a very Happy Birthday.
We love you, Mommy and Daddy

Millie in Moorehead KY

We went to visit our friends the Ferguson's in Moorehead KY last weekend for the first time since Millie came home. I know that I have talked about them in the early post, before we received our referral but just in case you need to be refreshed. We met Chuck, the children you see in the pictures Dad, 2 years ago while tailgating for UK football. I don't know if you all know this but I was having a very difficult time with the waiting process in our adoption at this time. And a friend of Chucks told us about his pictures of his kids, they said you would not believe how beautiful they are. Unknowing of what to expect I met Chuck and he showed me his babies. I started to get very emotional as he told us their ages and where they were adopted from. How long they waited for their son Zeke, which is from Cambodia. He told his story to me on a night that I will never forget. He invited us down to meet Lori and his kids to Moorehead. He wanted me to see the happy ending. He kept telling us you have to hold on. That we had it in us to wait this time out. Come home to my family and you will see how much they have brought to us. So we did, and I fell in love with them all. Lori brought out all of their photo albums. She cried with me as I looked through the pictures that seemed to never be in my house at the time. But this family kept us going by showing us their love and happiness. I can't believe now that I was ever in that place of sadness. Wondering if my baby would ever come home to me. If she would ever look at me the way Zoey, Zeke and Zara look at Lori and Chuck. Thank you for your words and love Chuck and Lori. Look Chuck our kids ARE playing together one day. Love you both and your babies.
